Há mais de 10 anos assino semanalmente esse blog e público aqui artigos referentes à educação, política e assuntos gerais que impactam a sociedade e que considero importantes. Todos refletem tão somente meu ponto de vista sobre esses temas e experiência construída em mais de 50 anos de vida dedicada à educação.
Respeito o indivíduo e suas escolhas. Sou também um indivíduo, e alegra-me saber que vivo em um país democrático onde posso me expressar livremente. Liberdade individual! Meu Norte, desde a juventude! Afinal, a palavra que mais aparece na Declaração Universal de Direitos Humanos da ONU (1948) é precisamente: LIBERDADE.
O Students for Liberty é uma rede de estudantes pró-liberdade em todos os continentes. O Brasil tem uma de suas unidades nacionais.
Em recente postagem, o Students for Liberty Brasil afirma que “para uma sociedade livre funcionar, é importante que diferentes perspectivas políticas sejam toleradas. Ninguém tem o direito de intimidar o outro pelo silêncio ou pelo uso da força. Um ambiente em que as pessoas possam ser criminalizadas por expressar seu ponto de vista servirá apenas para promover amargura e ressentimento. […] A liberdade de expressão envolve um certo grau de tolerância e respeito mútuo, pelo qual um indivíduo pode não gostar do que alguém diz, mas defenderia seu direito de dizê-lo”. Discordar sem gostar menos, este é o meu propósito.
Reconheço a liberdade dos estudantes se manifestarem sobre os assuntos relevantes do país, como as eleições, assim como os dirigentes educacionais e qualquer cidadão dentro da Lei o do Regimento interno da IES. A liberdade de expressão é assegurada pela Constituição, sem qualquer restrição.
A experiência trouxe a visão ampliada do que urge e do que é geracional, pontual, momentâneo. Portanto, com ampla trajetória no cenário político e participação ativa, há décadas, nas entidades representativas do ensino superior da livre iniciativa, dirigente de uma instituição quase centenária, a minha preocupação sempre será com o futuro do Brasil para meus netos e alunos, visando o contexto global e visando o contexto complexo de um país plural e carente como nosso Brasil, sem deixar de imperar a LIBERDADE.
Finalizo recomendando fortemente à comunidade acadêmica docente, discente ou administrativa que SEMPRE escute opiniões diferentes, mesmo que seja para reafirmar suas próprias crenças.
Educação serve para libertar, nunca para aprisionar.
